Lando Norris Leads Oscar Piastri in Brazilian Practice Session
The British driver has outscored his teammate at each of the previous five race weekends.
The McLaren driver edged out fellow driver and title rival Oscar Piastri for the fastest time in the dying seconds of the practice session at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Norris, who seized the points lead from his teammate by just one point after taking the win in the Mexican Grand Prix recently, beat the Australian by a mere 0.023s.
Before then, Oscar Piastri had been the fastest McLaren driver throughout the hour before the sprint shootout due at 18:30 GMT.
Max Verstappen, the only other driver in realistic title contention, sitting 36 points behind Norris, finished in P17 as his Red Bull team opted for a different programme.
His teammate the Japanese driver was the sole competitor to have an incident, albeit lightly, when he spun at corner four early in the session.
The Japanese slid over the track edges before sliding over the escape zone, and was fortunate to escape with just a slight brush of the barrier.
The Ferrari of the seven-time champion also had a spin, at the final moments of the session, turning around through the high-speed corner before the last turn on to the main straight.
Hamilton ended the session in P19, just behind teammate the Monegasque driver.
The McLaren pair were far ahead of the other competitors, with the German's car in third, 0.619secs off Piastri's pace.
The Aston Martin of the Spanish driver was in fourth, with Sauber's Bortoleto ahead of Mercedes' Russell and Alpine's Pierre Gasly and the Williams of Carlos Sainz.
